Options menu bugs in 0.54 (Windows)

• After applying a different language and leaving the language selection menu, all buttons/menus disappear. Then after pressing any key they reappear. Switching between different menus will apply the new language at least to the options menus without restarting.

• After switching to Hi-Res mode, leaving and immediately returning to the options menus (i.e. without restarting) will result in the menus not fitting to the screen anymore.

That was quick, thank you :) #1 and #2 are fixed for me.

#3 seems to be a weird one, actually. Sometimes (not every time though), when I start the game with "fullscreen" already enabled (from a previous session), the game window is created with an offset of x=36, y=71 from the top left corner of the screen instead of x= 0, y=0 (perhaps the Win 10 default window displacement?). The game cursor is displayed with that same offset, yet the actual clicks are registered without the offset - which is causing the problem I previously described. I don't know whether this has something to do with how Windows launches the game and if another process interferes with this, perhaps stealing focus...

Some of the buttons still don't seem to work properly for me in version 0.9 (experimental):

  • The buttons at the bottom ("New Game", "Settings", "Credits"... and also "Resume" etc. in the game) flicker when moving the cursor near the border of the buttons.
  • Regardless of the settings there always seems to be a "dead zone" in the upper third of the three build buttons where no selection highlighting appears on mouse-over and the button also cannot be clicked.
  • The clickable area of several buttons (the main menu buttons at the bottom, the options in the settings menu) seems to be very off when starting the game with "fullscreen" already enabled (my resolution: 1680×1050, 16:10).

I have tried the "0.44 testing" version with two  save games, one from 0.38.2. and one from 0.43 (both Win 64). Both were converted without any problems.

I do like the new UI in general, especially the hunger bar and the daytime display.  However, I don't like the colors of the oxygen, health and hunger bars. I would prefer them to be displayed in default hud color (orange) and have them switch to flashing red or something similar if in critical condition.

Fixed. Thank you :)

Yes, I went back to the main menu, pressed "Exit" and relaunched the game (the settings.json file is immediately updated after pressing "Apply" in the language options though). The "English" language setting (or "LANGUAGE: en" in settings.json) just seems to use the default system language.

I'm using Windows 10 (64-bit).

Thanks for looking into it :)

Just bought the game, can't wait to play it :) However...

When I started the game for the first time, the language was set to German by default, most likely deriving it from the OS language settings. I'd prefer to play the game in English, though, so I tried setting the language to English, but this didn't work as expected: While "English" was selected in the language settings and the first entry in settings.json also read "LANGUAGE: en", all in-game text still was in German. Then I tried setting my OS language to English and this actually fixed the problem.

So setting the language to "English" currently sets it to "system default language" (or something like that). Hope this gets fixed in a future version  :)
